Alright so I have a 2003 350Z Touring model. 102k miles now, full bolt ons, 4.08 gears and uprev tuned.

I'm experiencing a very odd problem that I simply cannot figure out.

My car runs fine, pulls hard as always, but occasionally it just won't go. It feels like it goes into limp mode or something right at 5k RPMs and won't go anymore.

The SLIP/TCS/VDC lights come on too if I drive it hard up a canyon or something and will not go away until I turn the car off and on.

I'm assuming my ecu is fried, or about to be fried.
Anyone experienced this before and can point me in the right direction?

 

Have you you pulled a freeze-frame or checked for codes?

 

Forgot to mention, there is no codes being thrown at all.

 

Did you change the tires of the car recently? or modified the wheels in anyway? I think whats happening is that your slip sensors or the traction control sensors might be reading your wheels wrong and what happens is your car ends up thinking its lost traction due to the fact its use to reading the stock wheels or tires..espicially your telling me that your driving it hard on a canyon...I recommend to get the sensors checked and to make sure you have the wheels calibrated and aligned as well. So thats what i think. Either something wrong with sensors or you need to let the car know that " HEY I GOT 30" WHEELS HERE" lol.

 

Umm the wheels and tires have been 18x9.5 with 265/35/18 tires and 18x10.5 285/35/18s for a year or so now. So unless that could have eventually ruined the sensors, idk what it could be from!
