Exclamation Replacing Headlight - Issues

Working on a 2006 350z base (HEADLIGHT BULB)

I got the wheel off just fine, liner off just fine and that's where I ran into trouble. The grey cap holding the headlight bulb in will NOT come off. I can turn it about 90 degrees counter clockwise but the damn thing will not go any further I think it may have missed a thread when being screwed in before me. What should I do? I've been turning this cap for an hour now and the thing takes a lot of might to even turn it a few inches. I'm ready to break the cap off and buy a new one...

There is no threads.

Turn it counter clockwise ( make sure it's totally unlocked ), Then pry it out with a flat head a screw driver.

You don't always turn them till they stop turning. You gotta find the sweet spot where the tabs line up. Doing it through the fender might be tough but if you have the housing out there are arrows that you line up.

I had to back mine up 1/8" or so to get it off.
