Default Where to get a replacement aftermarket lug nut adapter?

A mechanic was doing safety on my car and over tightened the lug nuts. When I tried to remove my wheels the lug nut adapter snapped sheer off.

Where would I get a replacement? It looks like a 16mm hex but I don't think a hardware store would have something like this.... or would they?

It's this ***** here:

You might try the manufacturer of your lug nuts.

If it's a 16mm hex you should be able to find one quite easily at a well-stocked auto parts or hardware store. But, it will need to be used with your 1/2" drive socket wrench and perhaps an extension. Ideally, you should be using a torque wrench to properly tighten your car's lug nuts.

"Safety", eh? Hmmmm, a shop without a torque wrench...hooookay...

But ya, you can get those from anyone who sells tuner lug nuts.

As was stated by KornerCarver as well, you can probably find them from anyone who sells your mfgr lugnuts. Or you just verify the hex size.

But here, try this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/go...PAgaAnNs8P8HAQ

Just one source. Thank you, Googley.

@MicVelo,

Cool, thanks. I didn't know what to call it so couldn't Google it.

And Hey! I never said it was a good mechanic! Just one approved by Ontario lol. Welcome, friends... to the land of **** mechanics.

I ended going to Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Home Hardware, and then f-ing Partsource and couldn't find the right bit. Not a single one sold them. At PartSource I picked up a hexagon star pattern that fits snuggly into the lug nuts (like dcains posted but modified) so it gets the job done. Can't believe it was such a ***** to find!
