Default **Which part(s) are causing the tranny problem?**

Has a Nissan tech identified the problem part on the grinding manual transmissions?

I keep reading that trannies are being swapped and sometimes 2 or 3 times but which part is failing or defective?

Does Nissan even know which part is failing?

I don't know which part it is nor do I think Nissan has blamed it on one part. Im learning to live with the very seldom grinding.

Road and Track was doing an update on an SMG Z4 and they complained that the tranny occasionally grinded as well so it can't be that big a problem if its not all the time. Odd though that none of those magazines with one year tests of it haven't reported it.

I bought Automobile Magazine though and their one year update title was something like It was good ...... but the daily grind wasnt so great. Turns out they were referring to what they said was generally a rough ride, not the tranny.

I don't think its the tranny. I think its something else thats causing the grind. Maybe pressure plate, throw out bearing, or even slave cylinder. I had 3 tranny replaced and no luck so far.

2003z, you wish I was a troll. im a man trying to find out the truth. I'm shopping for a new Z but I'll wait or buy something else if Nissan doesn't fix this problem. A problem can only be fixed if they know exactly what the problem part is.

when they replace the trans, they should also replace the clutch clevis pin, check the parts list on the work order. the new pin gives the pedal more throw relaesing the clutch further. if that doesnt fix the problem try petro specs(bg) trans fluid it seams to work for most
