Default 03 Issues Fixed!

Backstory: had to change out catalytic converters and yet after that happened car had issues accelerating in the low end and RPM's would jump like crazy. While at idle the car would sputter and the RPM's would drop low and then jump back up.

After this I got the codes pulled and the knock sensor code had come up
However I was told this was not a reoccuring code and did not need to be changed out

Car is working now so heres a short list of what I got fixed in case anyone has similiar issues.

-Swapped out old Cats for OEM cats
-Changed every spark plug
-Changed every ignition coil
-got a fuel injection cleaning (mind this is an 03 with 130K on it)

Fontana Nissan changed my spark plugs with their factory plugs, I got Hitachi Ignition Coils, and cats from a member on the private classifieds.

Took about two months for these issues to get fixed and around $1500 in parts and labor.

Hope this might help someone.

-Chris

Good to hear your Z got fixed, but no way to tell which parts actually resolved the drivability issues. Did you ever find out what brand of spark plugs were actually installed in your VQ? Were the old cats factory versions, or something else?

On a positive note at least it was down for turkey day so no risk of the infamous holiday crash fest.
