Question Need help replacing Camshaft Position Sensor on 350Z HR 2007

Hi, since my last thread on my350z about vdc off and slip light shown up on dashboard here

https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance...07-vq35hr.html

So far the problem don't show up again but I decided to have the Camshaft Position Sensor replacement on my 350Z HR 2007

Now it comes to the pain in the **** part that I've recently searched for CPS on the internet and I found out that the DE model have the different sensor on passenger side and driver side

I've read the assembly on the manual and found out that the CPS used on HR model are 23731-JA11A (older version) and superseded by 23731-JA11B. Am I understood them correctly? If it's true so I just have to buy 2 of CPS since they are the same one. I won't have any problem with the CPS replacement like DE model right?

Thanks for the help, sorry for my english

Not sure how it works in Bangkok, but in the US, giving a Nissan dealer your VIN number will reveal which part EXACTLY fits your engine. The VIN contains enough information, including late or early production, to get it right. I assume it would work the same for the rest of the world.

But why are you replacing the CPS in the first place?

Just like others did, I've faced the situation that VDC off, slip light showed up on the dashboard after run the car for a while it stalled, cannot start anymore. Sitting the car for a while and battery disconnected, the car can start again. That was my first time. For the second time i was not that lucky this time the car were not be able to start so I have to towed the car back to garage, after resetting immobilizer the car was able to run once again, so far I havent faced the issue like this but after researching for a while I've found out that it might be because of the CPS and Crankshaft Sensor

As a new owner, you're trying to navigate your problems by looking at anecdotal information and problem solving. You're guessing! But there's no need to do this- your Z is equipped with an electronic diagnostic tool that will tell you EXACTLY what the issue is. You need a good code reader, like UpRev's Cipher program, to access the program through your OBD II port. The investment into a good code reader is as important as a good set of wrenches if you're working on your own car! Again, I don't know what's available in Bangkok, but if you're unwilling to do this, any Nissan dealer should be able to pull codes and confirm what your issues are for about an hour of shop time (if its anything like the US).

Do this FIRST before you start throwing parts at your Z!
