Default Stall on Starup...

So this issue is intermittent...

2004.5 350z touring always changed oil at 5k intervals and always 93 premium fuel.

I start my car in first and have the clutch in but sometimes the rpm will drop very low to 0 and stall. Other times it will go very low and almost stall but then go back to where it should at about 800.

I've searched and have cleaned both my maf and air filter. I then reset the ECU and drove roughly 500 miles.

Any ideas?

Some time they throw codes, sometimes not. I would replace both

Thank you. I actually just reset my ECU and noticed there is a lot of acid buildup on the positive terminal. Could this cause an issue?

Battery is from June 2010, last owner put it in (OEM battery). Voltage is good at about 14 based on the interior gauge.

Clean the battery terminals but I doubt that's it.

Next thing to check for would be vacuum leaks. Mine was doing this same thing intermittently. It ended up being the preformed hose that goes from the bottom of the intake tube to the back of the driver side valve cover. Was split halfway around and sucking in unmetered air depending on temp and how the hose rested when I shut it off.

Check the cheap things first.

Thanks I will have to check that out. Have a road trip coming up so will be putting about 1,000 miles on the z. Could be that it's split I've never really checked my hoses before. Hopefully I can find it.

I'm also going to replace the battery while I'm at it, already 6 years old.

Yep its not the battery. Although I got rid of a lot of corrosion and it was needed to be changed.

I am going to find OEM cam sensors and install both.

This is basically what my z does, found a video on youtube... Just got the car so not sure if this is normal.

It doesnt seem to stall after the new battery but still drops then goes to idle.

Thanks for the pic, I did look at that hose among other rubber ones and didn't see a puncture or rip.

I only noticed this stalling issue after my battery was disconnected for a headunit install. After that it seemed like the issue was present. Only had the car a bit though but seems like it can't maintain idle only after a start.

Still persistent randomly but doesn't stall fully.

What I've done this far:
Cleaned maf
Cleaned air filter
Installed new battery

I might reset the ECU at this point or clean the throttle body.

Okay that makes sense.. I've seen some people have many many issues after touching that. Maybe I'll just take it off to see how dirty it is first.
