Can you do labor yourself? If so jwt combo, but while you have trans out, replace the crap csc with the zspeed hd one. You are still looking at 1500 ish doing it yourself

$15 for DIY?

I think I paid $1300 for the parts & labor back in the day for the JWT combo...

Just FYI, it's not actually dual flywheels... it's called a "dual mass flywheel" where there are offsetting "counterweights" inside (usually springs acting like counterweights on a planetary DMF like the Z's). But it's a single unit, not two. And it's not unique to your '08. All Z33s (and Z34s) are equipped as such from 2002-on to today.

I second the nomination for the JWT kit but be aware that they're sold in two differing versions: One with a lightened flywheel for easy engine revs and the other with a heavier iron flywheel (but still a bit lighter than the OE DMF). Which to choose depends on what you use the car for.

If it's a track beast (or dual purpose), the lighter unit does free up the engine and getting into the power band is faster. OTOH, if your car is primarily a street/DD car, I would "suggest" the iron unit so that there's inertia behind the engine making for smoother driving on streets and freeways. I've run both on varying cars and there are advantages and pitfalls to both so study up on it and be honest with yourself about how the car is used.

I went with the lighter of the two and it was a definitely a difference ... I stalled the car out quite a bit the first days and it'll require you to relearn how you let the clutch out and hit the gas.

There is no doubt that the Nissan OEM parts are good; but that $4k price tag isn't so good. The prices that the guys have suggested are right on the money (no pun intended).

Oh, and not to diss the Nissan parts guy (I used to be one long ago!) but for him to tell you there are two flywheels.... uhh, well, there's his cred out the window.

Also pay big heed to Travlee's advice (above) regarding the concentric slave cylinder. Don't use OEM for that, it's not a good option because it's possible it will still fail in less time than it should.

Good luck!

Default All you need

Under $900 parts and about $400-500 labor. Ask your friend if he's ok to do the labor for $300 and some 12pack lol. Of course he would recommend oem nissan parts since he works for nissan but IMO, aftermarket parts are as reliable as well as long as you did your research on them. The links below are all you need to get that clutch biting hard again.

Just be aware of the chatter that comes with aluminum flywheels, they will sound like UPS trucks but you will get used to it and nothing wrong with that, the pros will outweigh the cons and you can feel it when you are driving. GL
