Default VQ35HR starts then stalls when warm.

Evening!
I've been trying to diagnose this problem with my Z for the past month. After going on longer drives(45-60 mins) my Z starts sputtering after slowing down/coming to a stop till it eventually stalls. Problem is this doesn't happen consistently.

Today I went on a 30 minute drive. Walked into the bank and came out and my Z would start then stall, pressing on the gas pedal seems to stall the vehicle faster. I waited 20 minutes for a tow truck and of course the car starts up like no big deal and the dealer now can't replicate the issue.

Car is stock and has never been modified. ECU isn't throwing any codes/faults. I've previously replaced the cam/crank sensors with OEM ones. Previous visit to the dealer they did a reflash of the ECM. Throttle bodies are clean.

I did notice today the times I unsuccessfully started the car I could not hear the fuel pump priming up. I've mentioned this to the technician and he's pretty adamant that it's not the fuel pump since he feels this should also occur during cold starts. Any suggestions??

My first suggestion would be to use a bi-directional tool to test fuel pump actuation under cold and warm conditions. Also, check your IPDM to make sure there's no corrosion going on underneath. Without a code, it's going to take a bit of hunting to find the source of the problem. What's the mileage on the engine?

Great, I appreciate the reply! I talked to the dealership and asked to check to fuel pump(hopefully he does) especially under load. I visually inspected the ECU and can’t see any corrosion. Will report back!

The IPDM isn't the ECU. It's the fuse/relay module under the hood near the battery.

Relays can cause intermittent faults, so check your fuel pump relay to make sure it's still in working order.

Damn man you are the man!! Much appreciated!

I actually picked the car up today from the dealer. I really think they half-assed diagnostics unfortunately.

I pulled the IPDM and running through diagnostics via FSM. I did notice geckos/lizards decided to make the IPDM their home I can hear something rattling around in there. I confirmed the relay works via multimeter and I get continuity to the ECM. I also tested the fuel pump at 8ohms(3ohms over spec). I'll be replacing the IPDM since it's covered in lizard **** and I wouldn't doubt that they somehow got some in the IPDM, up for replacement is also the fuel pump since it's out of spec.

Anyways I wanted to test the connections to the condensor but I can't seem to locate it. In fact prior to this I've only heard of a A/C condensor Any ideas? 2007 350z.

Oh yeah. RE: the condenser, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that sits in front of the radiator. There's a pressure sensor on the side, but I'm not sure if there's any other connection on the condenser that I'm missing.

The parts sheet is available at Courtesy Nissan [LINK].
