Default Workaround for SRS Light?

I'm new here and LOOKING for a possible resolution to SRS light dilemma. I've read all threads, Have an 07" 350 Z Touring. SRS light has been on 6 mo. now. I have checked all cables, and used reset patterns to eliminate light for a short time only. Took car to Nissan Stealership for diagnostic evaluation. ($135). They said code indicated sensor in passenger seat needed replacement. Was informed sensor itself could not be replaced. The entire passenger seat cushion base must be replaced per Nissan, at a cost of $3400.00 (That's seat cushion base only). It seems Nissan doesn't want to provide a fix for something that presents such potential liability. Questions, Has anybody been told this before from Dealer. Is there a workaround for this situation. Can I purchase sensor and replace it myself in seat base. Is there a way to disconnect the warning light altogether. (resets on light don't hold), ????? Any knowledge or suggestions will be much appreciated! Thanks, Marcus

They want 3400 bucks for a cushion??? Honestly, I figure the best resolution would just be to find a good, used seat.

TLDR that it comes back on right away.
