Default Cam shaft sensor plug broken

So my friend and I were changing out the cam sensors in the Z got the driver side done and he did the passenger side. Well after he got the 10mm off he was having trouble taking off the plug and doing so he broke a part of the plug. We tried to tighten it back up and we got the cam sensor code.

My question is 1. Is there a way we can get a new plug and just take the wires out of the old one ? I do t know how to do that if it is possible.
Do we have to buy another plug harness and splice the wires and then put them together ?

Thanks for the help

Yea - you can de-pin a camshaft position sensor plug. They are a little harder than normal plugs (found around the car) but it can be done. Your smarter move will be to purchase a new plug with a pig-tail wires and just splice it into the OEM wires.

Also, the passenger side and driver side plugs are different - so a drivers side plug will not work in the passenger side.

Got both of my replacements from wiring specialties. Would recommend sodder and heat shrink for the splicing.

If it helps you can use and probably much easier to find, a plug from the steering servo pump pressure switch. Don't ask me how I know .

Mine broke too and was in a hurry to fix it. Looked everywhere and couldn't find any in a such a short time. I was desperate and helplessly sitting in a front of the car when suddenly steering servo pump pressure switch catches my eyes. Although it has a different clipping system, it perfectly fits to the camshaft sensor. Bonus, it is much easier to plug/unplug it than original camshaft sensor. Man, I was so happy .

On Ali those are quite cheap:
