Got my tranny replaced today. The clutch has too much damn play. I barely lift my foot off of the floor and the car lunges forward. I almost stalled in front of everyone . They must think I don't know how to drive stick

Anyway, my shift boot is really spongy. Anyone have any idea why??? I can feel something in the shiftboot. Wasnt there before.

 

Did you ever have that 1st to 2nd gear shift "clunk" in the morning? or Grind starting in the morning?
If you did, were these issues resolved with the new tranny?

 

whenever i had my clutch replaced on my last car it was like that at first but then the clutch breaks in and the clutch engagement becomes a lot more gradual/less sudden.

 

My grind was in 3rd gear freshzz. The car feels better today. SO MUCH smoother than stock. Amazing the difference

 

Just curious, where did you get your new tranny from..??? I got the same feeling with this new tranny, seems better but notchy on 1st and 2nd when car is cold..and also after car warms up I can feel if you leave the car in N and do a little play with the shifter every single notch of gear, weird feeleing.....

 

lol same thing here nandoarc. I'm not sure where mine came from. Dealer ordered it thats all I know.

1st gear feals notchier than before, but the rest of the gears do feel better. How can you tell if you got a new clutch or not?
