Rear end noises after hard launch
2003 Z
I launched my car pretty hard about a month ago after my 7 year old asked me to 🤣🤣
Anyways right after, my Z was making noises from the rear, specially under acceleration.
I went over a speed bump and it went away.
But now when I step on the gas I feel/hear as if it's "engaging" from the rear. It drives perfectly fine besides the harsh start from a stop light. Also when I accelerate harder than usual, I hear a noise again until I stop or at least accelerate normal.
I lifted the rear and I see nothing wrong. No broken arms or axles. What else would it be? I would think the diff but besides hard acceleration, it's perfectly fine.

At 175K, there could be several possibilities. When you had the Z lifted, did you take it out of gear and rotate the tires to check how the rotational play feels? Also, check the axial play while you're at it to see how the rear wheel bearings are faring on each side.
I also want to know why rear end noises after hard launch and I am searching for the solution online. I am glad I found your post in which I found my answer.
