Question Drivers side Wiper blade Hitting A Pillar

Hi wanted to post this question with great detail as I'm in the need of direction.

2005 350Z Perf 6 speed.

My drivers side window wiper has been smashing into my A pillar for a hot minute. Ive narrowed some things down.

1) It only hits the A pillar when is higher driving speeds OR if I put the switch to FULL speed wiper.
2) I checked, and reseated the wiper arm several times to attempt to fix this ( did not solve)
3) the knurling on the wiper arm AND where it inserts into the moving mechanism both seem to be rust free and in good condition.
4) With the car OFF and wipers in the down position there is a good amount of play (sliding) that I can manually move the wiper with my finger.
5) The motor has not failed electrically and always responds when switched on.
6) I have fixed it temp by switching to a smaller length wiper blade that cant reach the A pillar (as well) it seems the play is getting worse and now it can reach the A pillar.
7) the passenger wiper blade is OEM length and DOES NOT have any issues with moving and or play ( unlike the driver portion) This is what leads me to believe that its something within the mechanism of the assembly and NOT the motor ( maybe a worn gear on the assembly driver side??)

I will be taking the assembly out to inspect the moving parts for wear ( which I imagine there is) but I was hoping if someone can point to me if these symptoms are more of a wiper motor internal failure vs the assembly so I don't waste time removing stuff. Also if anyone knows if this unit is somewhat rebuildable or if its safe for me to just order a new one from ebay I would appreciate it.

Thank you.
