Default Any Dealers Out There Have Paint Code for Factory Wheels?

I stupidly used some paint thinner to clean some tar off my wheels and the paint started coming off. Not the factory paint mind you. The paint from the repair job that the last Dealer apparently did on the edges of the wheels after he butchered them chaning the tires and didn't bother to tell me about. I ordered paint today from Finish Line. I was quite clear that this was for the wheels. The paint manufacturer even contacted Nissan to get the right codes. Unfortunately when I got home and opened up the can it contained SilverStone, the body color. At least I'll have a quart to repaint the front bumper cover if I have the car that long. I'll just need some flex agent. I guess it's been a long time since I painted a car. I originally asked for laguer base and clear and the guy laughed at me stating that they don't even carry it anymore and very soon it will no longer be sold anywhere. So I got acrylic enamel base and a two part urethane clear. Sorry for rambling but the code for the wheels would be much appreciated.

Default Wheels

The wheels are not really painted. I think they are powder coated.

I have been told by a couple of local body shops that normal paint will not stick well to wheels. They refused to do the work.

You will probably find that there is no color code available.

I have had 2 wheels refinished (G35 wheels) and I sent them out to a mail order place. They were stripped and re-powder coated for $109 + shipping.

i had the wheels done at Wheels America. I was not super impressed (it took them a couple of tries to get the color to match) so you might want to ask around for other places to consider.

Thanks for the info Andy. If these rims are powder coated then it was done in three layers because there is a grey base coat, a metallic silver coat and a clear coat. I don't know that much about it so I'll take your word for it. I spoke to NNA this morning about the wheels. They suggested I take it back to the Dealer(s) because they shouldn't have reapired the wheels in this way. Only two (2) Dealers have touched the car and I went to both. The first actually replaced the wheels becuase they damaged the original one's rotating the tires. They took new complete wheels off a car in inventory while I watched and put them on mine so I didn't really suspect them. The second Dealer said that they have (do) repair rims and have a "wheel guy" that comes around to do it but that they didn't repair mine. So that was the end of line as far as getting the responsible party to repair or replace the rims. So in spite of your good advice I went ahead and repaired them myself. See pics in the wheel repair thread.
