I have 13,000 miles and no mods on my Z and the clutch and Flywheel are already bad. Symptoms: while in 6th gear and giving it gas it reved only. Also seemed to bogg down accelerating slowly from a stop. Through the dealers I was told that this is a wear and tear issue and not covered. Is there anyone else out there who has had the same issues or have I just had too much fun with it? Options? Ideas? Am I totally hosed? Whatever information you have would be helpful. Clutch is probably gone if it's slipping like that. Does it do that in high gears all the time? If so, time for a new clutch. Go aftermarket and get an aftermarket flywheel too.

I gotta' tell you I lost my clutch at the track and Nissan replaced it and the flywheel that was also damaged and paid the tow bill. The service department contacted Nissan and they said this could have only resulted from abuse and I said "Well don't you make a track model"? The Z has clutch and transmission issues but you just have to push the issue at the service department. Can you say warranty! Good luck.

 

I like that "don't you make a Track model" I using that line too. I also have a issue with my tranny at 13k squeels when shifting above 4k they said it was normal WTF something about syncomesh or something. anyways said shifting at 4k was abuse. Keep in mind I've have my tranny replaced once threw in Nismo flywheel maybe I need the Nismo clutch? Stock Z clutch does suck ***

 

I have three track days this month and I'm very leary of this new stock clutch but what the heck, that's what the warranty is for.
