Default Official tools thread - questions and answers

Well, I don't want to keep going back and forth from my dad's house to get odd tools that I don't have (but need for different applications)... so let me ask the forum experts.

I want to get my own torque wrench, but I was wondering if I should get the 3/8" or the 1/4" drive for this tool. What other things should I be looking for when spending my time at Sears pondering my [torque wrench] purchase.

Any other questions or answers (suggestions) could go on this thread for the experts to answer.

Here is the tool that is commonly referred to when people ask about installing the side markers/reflectors without having to remove the front bumper. The last time this pic was posted, the link changed so all that was left was the infamous red "x"

keywords: side markers reflectors tool screwdriver screw driver

I'm afraid that I'm not one of those forum "experts". I'm more like the forum hack job but if it were me, and I could only have one, I'd get a 1/2 drive torque wrench. That way it would be useful for apllications where you really need like cylinder heads and such and you can always step it down to 3/8 for smaller applications although it won't be very useful for measuring small forces.

I have a 1/2" drive Craftsman click-type wrench that should work on most all engine fasteners. You may want to get a smaller one, 1/4" drive normally, if you need to torque something to a specific in/lb setting.
