Default Changing Manual Transmission Fluid

Ok I recently had to have my 6 speed MT replaced because of 3rd gear grind. The new transmission seems to be ok but it is still a little notchey when shifting from 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd. Has anyone changed there transmission fluid?, how difficult is it to do?, what brand of transmission fluid do you suggest?

P.S.
I apologize if this is a repost but my search function will not work, is that happening to anyone else?

not too difficult. drain plug on bottom and fill plug on passenger side of trans. You will need some type of small pump to get the fluid up to the fill plug- I bought one designed for lower unit oil in an outboard/ IO boat application.
The next trick is getting the car jacked up and level. I backed up onto my Rhino ramps and then jacked the front of the car up.

I used Amsoil Series 2000 75W-90 and love it!!! The API service codes match Nissan requirements. (also used it in the rear diff!!)
