How big does the chip have to be before I should get it filled? Right now it's the sice of a lead pencil head tip, pretty small. So I'm not sure if it's even something to worry about yet. any info?

my tip to you is get it filled right away. check your insurance. usually if you have a deductible on your comprehensive, say 250 or 500 bucks, then you need to get it filled. I had a deductible of 500 and when i had the chip, my company said that to get it filled would be free but a new windshield would cost me my deductible. When i spoke with the company that fills the glass with that liquid stuff they said that the filling only works on a crack or chip of about a dollar size in length, after that it has to be replaced. Mine started to spider out and was actually a toouch longer then a dollar. I talked the guy into trying anyway and thankfully it worked, you can still see a tiny line at certain angles but its better than dropping 500 bucks. So before that chips starts to spread you are better off getting it filled no for free or at least at a much lower cost than a new windshield.
