Default The best way to break my car in?

Just bought a '04 SS Enthusiast... i have around 200 miles on it now, and i usually shift like 2300 -3000, sometimes i shift at like 3300-4000. The fastest i've taken it was 75, but this was only because i didn't realize it. I've read other posts saying that I should break it in until 1500 miles, but never how.... btw i absolutely love my Z... so help me to treat my 2nd gf right.... Thanks for the help!

keep it under 4K till 1500... get an oil change at 1500 miles... and don't keep the rpm's at the same range. try to keep it varied. drive around the city.. a bit on freeways.. just try not to stay around the same rpm too much. 75mph is ok.. your still under 3K rpm's anyways

ya.. Vary your RPM during the first 1K miles or so to break in the engine properly. Avoid prolong freeway driving.

The exact instructions are in your manual:

1) These steps are to be followed for the first 1200 miles
2) Keep RPM below 4000 RPM
3) Don't use full throttle
4) Don't maintain constant RPM for long periods of time
5) No towing

I believe those are all the rules in the manual. You can check it if you want. I would also recommend changing oil at 1200 miles and keep it non synthetic.

10 miles should be fine.
the point is that new cars should not be driven at constant highway speed for "prolong" period of time.
