Question bogging

For the last 500 miles I have noticed my car feels like it was losing power. It started to bogg when I would get into it from a stop. I also noticed the gas is going much quicker and the bottom of the exhaust tips are getting really black pretty quick also. I am about to hit 15,000 miles and its time for the intermediate service. I was wondering if thats why this is happening? Maybe a dirty air filter making the car run rich? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

i would recommend having the dealer inspect your catalytic converters they may be broken.

that would cause a problem like that? Wouldn't the check engine light come on if there was a problem with the cats?

well... the Random Tech cats have been causing some problems... there's another thread going in this forum where we are diagnosing a Multiple Cylinder Misfire on anther member's car, I had the same problem... turned out to be damaged RT cats...

and, I never had a check engine light come on, just the decreased performance...

the dealer will be able to pull the engine codes and confirm you are running rich... then they should be able to figure out what the problem is....

Good luck!
