Default question about tranny replacement...

took my car in yestesrday for 3rd gear grind. got the approval from the dealership and/or nissan, whoever makes the decision that they're going to replace it. but it will be about 2 weeks before the new tranny is shipped to the dealership.

my question is, when they replace the tranny do they also replace the clutch. i hope this doesn't seem like too stupid of a question because my first thought is of course they dont replace the clutch, however, having read some other peoples posts about replaced trannys i noticed some have mentioned how the clutch feel has changed - and i dont know how the clutch feel would change from just replacing the tranny (minus clutch that is).

thanks,
Rajiv

they do not change the clutch but they do replace the clutch pedal and adjust it so that it feels softer. if you ever plan on adding an aftermarket clutch and fly there is no better time than now to do it while its out. its what i did and only cost me 72 in labor.

Rajiv

I dont know where you got that they do not change the clutch..
I just spoke with NNA today and they include clutch in the transmission unit , but they were wrong before , so hndumafia you might want to check it out yourself ...

check out performance nissan , good prices , superb service fast shipment..
