I own an 04 enthusiast coupe. I am having problems with my the whole feathering issue! At only 8000 miles, Nissan is ordering me another set of fronts and SUPPOSEDLY, they have the new correct alignment specs. Too bad I have to wait 2 weeks for tires due to them being on national back order.

I have an 04 Base Coupe. Since I got the car, 5th and 6th gear have gotten progressively worse. Now, with 17k miles on it, I grind going into 5th and 6th about 80% of the time. Nissan says they don't know what it is, but they definitely aren't about to fix it for me. Anybody else have the same problem with the last 2 gears?

My tranny grinds shifting into 2nd sometimes when it is cold and I have the infamous throw out bearing rattle when the tranny is in neutral with the clutch disengaged.

Other than that, no problems!

once again thanks for your posts. i've been preparing for the arbitration and the lemon law (if arbitration doesn't work) since november of 2003. as you can imagine i have a file about 5 inches thick. i don't want to give too much of my case up because i know that the arbitration specialist(nissan) reads these posts.

but i promise after the hearing i will let you all know how it went and what steps i took. until then thanks for solidifying my case.

I have a 2004 base model and have had no tire issues.....yet. The tranny grinds sometimes from the 1st to 2nd shift when cold and is otherwise generally notchy from the 1st to 2nd shift.

This is what i fear when or if my time comes for a tranny replacement. A few things ive observed at my dealership service dept give me the distinct feeling that I would not be dealing with the most competent nissan service dept.

I FINALLY HAD MY ARBITRATION HEARING YESTERDAY. AFTER A LONG 3 HOUR PROCESS, THE ARBITRATOR WILL TAKE 3 DAYS TO MAKE A DECISION. MY CASE WAS ON SUSPENSION(TIRES), TRANSMISSION, WINDOWS, TRUNK LATCH, PAINT. WISH ME GOOD LUCK. I'LL KEEP YOU ALL POSTED.

THANKS AGAIN FOR HELPING OUR CAUSE.

ok guys here's what you've been waiting for:

I recieved the verdict today via fax. and NISSAN IS REQUIRED TO REPURCHASE MY 2003 350 Z. I'M A LONG TIME POSTER HERE BUT I WON'T BE VISITING THIS SITE TO MUCH MORE IN THE FUTURE. I'M GETTING AN AUDI A4 AS MY NEXT CAR.

HERE ARE SOME DETAILS:
AFTER COMING TO THE HEARING OVERPREPARED THE ARBITRATOR FOUND FAULTS WITH ALL THE COMPONENTS I WAS ARBITRATING.
SUSPENSION,WINDOWS,TRANSMISSION,TRUNKLATCH,PAINT. IN A NUTSHELL THE RESPONSE FROM THE bbb WAS "SHAME ON YOU NISSAN" CHAULK THIS ONE AS A WIN FOR ALL US DISGRUNTLED Z OWNERS. I WISH YOU ALL LUCK IN THE FUTURE AND HIGHLY RECOMEND THE BBB ROUTE. IF ANYONE HAS QUESTIONS JUST PM ME I'D BE HAPPY TO HELP ANYONE OUT IN ARBITRATION. NISSAN DESERVES WHAT IS COMING TO THEM.

IRONMON75, SIGNING OUT.
