I have an auto as well with about 17k miles ('03 touring) and sure enough my tranny went out on my this past Sunday morning. It's at the dealer right now and they are rebuilding the tranny (not replacing it) so be on the lookout yourself. It appears this may not be just an issue with manuals. Good luck.
