Oil pressure

Oil pressure
The car runs fine but my oil pressure gauge is permanently pointing to the max (past 120) no matter what the rpms are. Is this a gauge/sensor/ecu malfunction or can the reading be correct? Can the oil pressure really be that high even at idle with the engine warm? If so, what can be the cause?

first, check the oil level. maybe whoever changed the oil didn't do it right and overfilled it extreamly high. In which case you could ruin the engine, causing it to burn oil excessively.
If the oil level is fine, then it might be the sending unit. I understand it's easy to replace at the dealer.
Did you get a recent oil change?
Checking the oil level is difficult, but remember to let the engine sit for 10 minutes before checking the oil to allow it to settle properly.

The oil level is a bit low, I'll correct that but I doubt it makes a difference. The Last oil change was a while ago so I don't think it was that. It has to be the sending unit or something like that. I can't see the pressure really being that high.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If it has been that long ago that you changed the oil then change it. Make sure you use the correct weight for your area (5/30).
When using dyno oil (regular oil) my oil pressure started going high when oil started to cook at about 3k miles. This was my clue to change it.
While they are changing the oil, they can check oil sending unit.
