Default bent frame with floor jack

i used a floor jack i got from autozone and jacked the car up using the factory jack points behind the front tires. after lowering the car, i noticed that the floor jack actually bent the jack point on the car! has anybody else noticed this? am i just doing this all wrong? any help would be appreciated. btw, the jack has four grooves and is not flat. maybe i need a jack that has a flat lifting section.

you can get some rubber adapters that fit into the groves on the stock jack points. i don't really think it matters all that much if you have bent that little rail up.

I use a hard rubber hockey puck.

This is all you need:

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...atalogId-10101

It fits over the frame rail on the jack points perfectly.

Glad to help. You might need to do some modification to get them to fit on your jack stands...I just use one on the saddle of the jack to lift the car, and the ends of my jack stands are wide/tall enough that they clear the vertical rail and support the car at the rail's base. But if you've got a really wide saddle on the jack stand itself, then you might be able to modify these to fit on it.

The only problem from bending the little rail is some beaverheaded twit, later on, may accuse you of having frame repair work done. Happened to me with my '92

I use a couple old t-shirts. Works pretty well.
