Default removing the navi lid

how can I remove the navi lid? I just want to keep it open the whole time, is that possible?

yeah, just open it and don't close it.

You probably have to pry apart the center console and remove the upper half of the center stack to get to it.

My navi lid opens and closes everytime I turn the car on and off

Funny you say that. I just got a 04 touring (black) a week ago and had trouble with my NAV lid last night.

For some reason it decided it did not want to open. It had previously been set so that it opened and closed every time I turned the car on and off.

I pressed the button a few times, turned the car on and off... nothing. Called the dealer - they said to bring it by this weekend.

Later I applied a little pressure to the top of the lid when I turned the car on and it opened right up. Today it is working normally....
