It might be normal? I swapped my steering rack and still makes the noise, my parents Toyota SUV and Nissan Maxima make the same noise. STRANGE

I did fix the steering problems I have been having with the other rack so I'm a happy camperrrrrr

 

bump. the problem actually went away for a while and now its back but worse. anyone find a solution?

 

I detailed my findings when dealing with the clunk because I literally replaced my entire front suspension chasing it down; turned out the steering rack was bad. I bought a re-manufactured rack from the The Rack Doctor and for under $200 it's been great.
