Wow! Very nice!
What are the stats on that thing? What class do you race in?
And just wondering...your sig says you live in 'cinci'. Is that Cincinati Ohio?
I am new to ohio, and was wondering if there are any tracks around here? I am close to KilKare, which is a dragway, and has a very small oval track, but I know of several dragways in Mich (where I moved from, and still visit often).
I was hoping to find a good road coarse, or AutoX. I have never done anything but drag racing though, but would love to do some real coarse racing...
So are there any real tracks around here, or some places that have AutoX's a lot?

That is a a Porsche 2002 GT3 RSR.
It runs in ALMS the Rolex Grand AM series.
I live in cincinnati, Ohio
closest road course is Mid Ohio which is about 70 miles north of Columus or Putnam Park, Which is 40 miles south west of Indy.
OR IRP but thats not really worht mentitioning.

I think I have heard of Mid Ohio.
What is the track like? How much does it cost to run your car there, and what what does that involve...(ie: how many laps, do you run with cars in your class)
Do you have to have lessons first to run for fun? How much would a lesson cost (I want to take them anyway).
And what is IRP? Bear in mind I am a complete beginner...so I don't need a pro track...but I would prefer one that isn't bumpy (I am willing to take corners quite fast, and take my car to the limit, but bumps tend to scare me when cornering tightly...at least on public roads)
Back to your Porsche.
Do you actually drive it in ALMS, etc or do you own the car and have a pro driver drive it for you? (or is this whole thing a big joke that I am not catching on to?)

I drove in 6 races in this car with the ACEMCO Motorsports team in the Grand AM Rolex series.
I drove in one ALMS race (mid Ohio) with The Racers Group in which we won in GT.
Putnam Park is your best chance to do some lapping on a raod course.

Just did a weekend at Putnam at the end of October. It was put on by the Mustang Club of Indy. Cost me $270 for 2 days. If you search on Putnam Park, you can see their schedule.
Did Mid-Ohio High Performance driving school in April. One day cost me $725 using their RSX Type-S. It was $600 if you use use your car. Two-days was like $1400 and I don't remember how much three days was. The first day you are only on the track itself about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes. Second day is breaking down the track into sections and learning proper lines with lapping at the end. Third day is all lapping.
Personally, before I doled out $1400 for two-days at Mid-Ohio, I would do a couple of autoX events (around $30) and maybe a track event ($200 one day, $270 for two). Saves a lot of money and I learned a ton.

I'm sure not as good as your track event!!! LOL
I was really surprised. Apparently, so were a lot of other people at the track. A lot of the more powerful cars could take us on the straight of course, but once we hit the first turn, the car was spectacular. All day long people kept making comments like, "what's under that hood?", "what kind of mods have you done", "no way that is naturally aspirated V6", "you sure you haven't done any suspension changes" and my favorite, "I looked in my rearview mirror and you were a speck and after one turn I looked up and you were on my tail!"
I had a co-driver so we ran the car hard for two days. I left to go to the bathroom for 2 minutes and when I returned I found out he had put the right side into a mud rut coming out of the hairpin and into the last sweeper. No damage, just a little dirty. In fact, I did the same thing the next session. We both experienced push in that hairpin and never really seemed to get that worked out. Driver error is a major factor. Also running on the stock tires until spring. Hopefully a wider tire in front will help some.
We were running 1:28s and 29s fairly consistently when we had a clear path. We timed a few of the faster cars just for comparision. The C5 was running 1:29s, a Z06 1:24s, a heavily modded Mustang (390HP~wife's car) ran 1:21s and his co-driver 1:27s.
Can't wait to start again next spring.

The first thing your probably gogint ownat to invest in is a new diff. I dont think the stock one will last very long ig you put to many days on it. We recorded our brake temp and rear end temps down at daytona. THe rear end was a lot hotter than the rear brakes. IF remember correctly it ran as high as 270. (not good)
The diff aslo is killing the car in accleration and cornering. And unplugging the traction control brings up a whole new mess of problems. We ran our new sway bars which helped, but the diffs gotta go. We are instlling a rear end cooler.
