Peformance??? The car can't possible go fast enough for it to make any significant difference in downforce. And I wouldn't suggest trying to go fast enough...

If these cars have that much power that they need a tail, then why dont they put wings on the side and fly?

I don't want to get into another arguement about whether spoilers work or not, cause it's been test/proven.

What proof have they or you? A wing that large would only provide a ton of drag even if it DID provide usable downforce. And like I mentioned, I wouldn't suggest driving fast enough that it would matter. That would be condoning reckless driving.

Most of you have the wing idea backwards. A wing that large would begin giving you usable downforce at less then highway speeds. The lip spoilers from the factory is what cleans up air flow and therefore increases stability, but only at high speeds, which unless your riding mid RPM in 6th at way more then legal speed your not actually using to full potential. You guys do realize that a fully race preped version of a production car usualy only increases it's top speed by maybe 15mph, and if these guys are designing spoilers for cars to take advantage of only that, it would only equate to what, maybe 5 seconds in a lap total, I don't think so.

Look I hate gawdly spoilers use cheap materials and only mimic GT style wings, but fully adjustable, quality built, aluminium/CF wing I'm all for. I plan to track my car a reasonable amount and eventualy plan to get a "ricer" kit. The performance increase might be slite at road speeds but if it means beating you the I'm in. And at the track... look why don't you guys spend five minutes at a Gran Am Cup race, those are nearly stock cars that reach speeds of around 140-170mph.... wait doesn't Z reach 155mph electronicaly limited??? The series has open pits and the engineers love to chat. Talk to them about telemetry and ask what kind of difference they make. Then try and convice them of your theory and see how many teams remove their fugly GT wings.
