Default Rear Spoiler or Not

Do you prefer the Z with or without the rear spoiler?

Yo Altima,

Your question asks with or w/o but your poll asks "yes" or "no".
Why don't you repost the poll asking "With" or "Without".

I guess with your considerable artistic skills ( your Z wallpaper is still on my computer), we can overlook a little gramatic error!!

With all due respect, I asked the question do you prefer the Z with or without the rear spoiler in my post to get an idea of what members think. But the poll question was...did you get the rear spoiler? And that's a yes or no question. Just killing 2 birds with one stone.

I prefer A spoiler, just not the factory one.

Got a response back from Kaminari regarding the "Z32ish" rear spolier their car had at SEMA.....it will be ready for production 2nd or 3rd week of January.

My response was no spoiler. To give an idea of how strongly I feel about the spoiler, I ended up buying a Performance model because I could not find a brick Enthusiast model in stock in northern California w/o a spoiler and did not want to wait until Feb/Mar. for my order to arrive. So I stepped up to the Performance model: Brick with smooooth backend!

I originally wanted just the base model with splash guards. I was dead set against the spoiler. But because patience has never been a virtue of mine, I decided I couldn't wait any longer to have my Z.

So, the dealer got a shipment of Z's on Saturday (after I went in on Monday to see about the car and was told they can get me the exact car I want in a couple of days...NOT), called me and I was out the door. My original color choices were Chrome Silver, Silverstone and Brickyard. But the Redline was there in person! To make a long story short, I drove away the proud owner of a Redline Enthusiast WITH spoiler and I love it.

I have yet to see another Redline. Heck, I've only glimpsed one other Z on the roads and it was Chrome Silver. So for now, I'm enjoying being the only little red Z zooming up and down I-55 between Jackson and Terry, Mississippi.

Boy, I missed on this one. I thought, at best, those in favor would not exceed 50%.

I guess us smooooooooooth backend guys are a minority! LOL.

I think it looks great with or without the spoiler. I think Porche came up with the best of both worlds with their spoiler that rises at 65mph (I think it's 65 mph). Having that on the Z would, of course, raise the price quite a bit.

Default both ways are nice but...

I got my touring with everything but the spoiler and nav.
Figue I'd wait to see what spoiler looks like in person. I could alsways add it easier tehn removing one. After seeing it in person on same car/color (CS touring 6 spd)) I like it more than I thought I would, BUT I think I prefer leaving mine as is. I like the flow of the lines w/o it SLIGHTLY more than with the spoiler installed. call it 45 /55 preferance.

Default Why Spoil Z Looks.

I perfer the clear lines on the new Z car. Since the stock soiler is not very noticable, I could live with it, but prefer not to have one on mind.

Z U later,

Zonny

You cheated, all black cars look more aggressive. Black was my second choice, but the car I traded-in was black. It's hard to beat black, it can make just about any car look mean and aggressive. I know I got a little side tracked, this post is about spoilers. Great looking car, spoiler and all.

Gadgetman,

I cannot believe you did not get the NAV. You are not living up to your name.

Spoiler.

As I went into my dealer, they had 4. White, orange, and two red. Inmediatly I knew I would have a red one since only the red ones had spoilers. All 4 were Touring models with manual-6, which is what I was looking for anyway.

Without the spoiler, it looks too "egg" to my taste.

I guess you got me as I somewhat tend to agree with you Zonny. ... BUT, you have to realize , I have do 1 truck and several cars... as in 9 cars. As such, the cost of the NAV did not offer a cost benefit since the new Z won't get a ton of miles. If it were my only car, or only toy car for that matter, then the NAV would make more justifiable sense. Instead, I'm waiting to find a real good portable unit I can switch beween the cars. And to be honest, I've had no trouble reading maps over the years to find my way, and other times I prefer to just drive and see the sites and eventually determine where I am via a main road # and finding it on the map. I should tell you I did utilize the NAV space and installed a digital compass behind the door so I do have a useful gadget there afterall. In fact I have the same type digital compass in several of the TOY's. If you get Sport Z magazine, check out bottom half of pg 19 of latest issue. You'll get a glipse of my Toy Box, and my three Z Toys.

By The way, I love the shot of your LS ( I assume that's yours). It was a tough choice going with CS over LS. Not being able to see it (LS) in person when preordering left me with a concerned the color I may not like it on the car or it may not age well over the years. However, now seeing it in person and in pics like yours, I don't think I would have tired of it over the years after all. And I do plan to keep this Z for a long time. Oh well, maybe I'm too old for the LS and need a more traditional color. Either way, we all have a great car regardless of the color choice.
