Taken at "The lookout point" on Ortega Hwy, overlooking Corona/Riverside County, CA. Was pretty wet and foggy this morning, but a sweet drive.

I drive that road every day for work and trust me, it's not as dangerous as people would lead you to believe. In fact based on the number of cars that drive it every day (around 25,000) there aren't that many accidents.

I heard that they gonna convert it into a freeway from temecula to orange county. That highway just gest more and more crowded since people can't afford house in Orange County. Every time there's a car accident...you can kiss ur whole day goodbye

Thanks all for the comments, glad you liked the pix. I'm surprised there isn't more votes for the 3rd and 4th option on the poll, considering it was new year's day lol.
Yeah, Ortega Hwy is an awesome place to drive -- can be as nice and safe or as fun and dangerous as driving on any 2-lane mountain road that sometimes has no guard rail. If you drive normally, like most who go through there, it's relatively safe. But if you crave the adrenallin rush of a spirited canyon drive, the twisty road won't disappoint. But it's not the place to test the limits of you or your car though, as one unpredicted slide could send you straight into a rock wall or off the clift at some areas.
Like Vicynax mentioned, there are falling rocks that you have to watchout for. And especially on Sat and Sundays, there are patrol cars parked at the town on top of the mountain and on the long straight at the bottom of the mountain, admiring the nice sports cars that often pass through there and eagerly waiting for a chance to get their autograph. So if you have a nice ride, lookout for those fans
. It's a nice twisty road though -- I call it the mini Nurburgring

We almost lost one of our members up there on the twisties. If I recall he lost traction and spun out into a guardrail. The guardrail got about a foot of his car otherwise he would have driven off the cliff......be carefull please

Also I'm pretty sure majority of those 25,000 drivers do it in traffic. The danger I'm referring to is people driving recklessly and sometimes drifting through the canyons. If you drive like that on the freeway, it might be fine, but not on a tiny 2 lane street.

And as for the comment about too many cops, yeah on weekends there are a lot, but on the weekdays I'll see maybe 2 cops per week on there. There used to be more but don't see them much anymore for about the last 1.5 years.
