im now the proud owner of a 73 240z. found it in tennesee for 1k. i also got a few cool magazines and vintage catalogs along with the car. the project begins.
Who died in that car dude. That car needs lots of TLC, but it's a great starting point for a new project....Good find and good luck with the build up....Show us some engine shots and what are your plans dude...
the car was gutted by the previous owner for scca solo racing, but has been sitting for 5 years under a tarp. it will get some loving from me and by the end of its transformation, it will be one sick car.i plan on swappin in a 1jzgte motor and repainting the entire car. the dash will be redone in fiberglass or cf and it will have a full interior and a bunch of other stuff.
my uncle messing around
Wow....good luck with the car. It's good to see someone that really cars end up with the car. 'Course...isn't it sort of blasphemous to put a Supra engine in a Z Car? lol
i dont think it is blasphemous to put another inline 6 in the z but when ppl put v8s and 4bangers in there, thats wrong. but on the whole i dont really care.
the money id spend on both of those wouldnt be worth it to me. the 1jz front clip would cost 2500 or a bit less from nadauto. at this point in time the prices for sr/rb front clips are so inflated ,its not worth it. ill take my 2.5l tt engine and wipe the floor with the 4 banger sr and overpriced rb.
I built my 77 280z way back with a Jim Cook wide body kit, not even sure if they still exist or not, wish I had some pics. they were very cool kits for that time.
wow keep us updated on this project man i really look forward to you giving this baby a rebirth, i love the classic look of it and would like to see how sick it can be
