Default Ed 718 photoshoot (ob-photo)

Hey guys, I've taken shots of Ed's Lemans before but it was with my old point-and-shoot Powershot S2IS. Got some great shots. The 12X optical zoom was great for composing shots.

But I wanted to see what I could do with my DSLR. Pretty happy with the results. Not a mind blowing difference because I was pretty handy with the S2IS, but you can see a difference.

The DSLR pics are impressive, as always, but the Canon IS2S pics are sick for a Point and Shoot type...

I'm nowhere near the photographer you are, so I've been looking at the S2IS, Fuji S5200, Kodak P850, and a few other cameras that are basically Point and Shoot with advancements (some manual settings) and big zoom. Your pics may have sold me on the IS2S...

unless you shoot in RAW mode I think DSLR and point and shoot are almost the same quality if you have both in auto mode.

I always like your pics .. You should do some other pic than the Z .. I'm not saying the Z isn't good, I'm saying different car has different angle. different angle = more variety, unique picture.

I don't shoot in Auto mode on my Rebel and I didn't with my S2IS. You have so much more control over the final outcome in manual.

As for shooting other cars. Don't worry, I plan too. It's just that I'm so busy with Z's and G's at the moment. I haven't even broke the surface with ob-photo. Expect big things in the future.

As usual, excellent pics bro!

BTW...were those taken with the 50mm f/1.4 lens? Looks great! Since I have the same camera as you, I'm definitely using your work for inspiration . I've got to figure out how the hell you do those action shots!
