The pic of the hotdogs was crystal clear. I would love a camera that takes pics like that.

DSLR + good lens = great picture. hehe

A good camera helps but it doesn't always make for a great photograph. Give a pro and point and shoot and they'll take a better pic than a noob with a Hasselblad H2D-39

not true in some case. For example for macro shot, you will not get the same quality with point and shoot. On the other hand, a person that now how to compose lighting can shot a great picture with his old cam while a newbie with top of the line camera can't do shiet.
