Default Pix, new wheels & Eibach's

Finally got wheels, (Privat Fahren 18/8/9) tires (Nitto 555 Extreme 245/40-275/40) and Eibach's (Prokit) all finished today. I really, really like the drop the Eibachs gave it. I will post better pix of the drop later.
Regards, Jim

What kind of digital camera are you using Jim? I'm in the market to get a new one and yours seems to take phenomenal pictures. I'd also like to know what you are using to wax, car looks fantastic.

Jim,
looks good. I should have my Fondmetals and Eibach's on in a couple of days. Do you think you could post a pic of a straight side shot with the wheels straight and a shot from the back showing the width of the tires....
Thanks,

Gorgeous...

Now lets get the low down.

Ride quality?

Understeer/oversteer?

Any bounce?

Ride Height?

You know the rest.

Do you have any photos that have not been touched up? Without the bump in contrast???

I am very interested in these wheels, but I want to know how they REALLY look....

Thanks

Todd,

Do you have any "real" pics of the Fahrens in gun metal as listed on your site?

Default Privat/Fahren impressions

Todd,
Ride quality is enhanced. Noticably less chop and feels more connected to the road. I have a notorious section of road that causes her to "porpoise" (bounce) to the point of looking for other ways to get to my destination. (I-17 from T-Bird to Bell). Yesterday I ran the gauntlet and found it was way less then before. I would say it decreased 75%. WooHoo, no more embarrassment! Keep in mind, I went from a 17" to an 18" wheel, then I went from 235/50 (rear) to 275/40 tires and then went to the Eibachs, all practically the same day and so I am having a little trouble determining which addition did what.
Not yet sure on the understeer/oversteer yet, but plan on nailing that down with a serious run on Saturday.
I very much like the enhanced ride quality. Before, I would feel ruts and bumps, etc. as a sharp response in the steering wheel that was a bit uncomfortable to me. That is no longer an issue. I feel the bumps/ruts, but it is not nearly as sharp/jolting as before. It seems to have brought the shocks more into play and as a result the transition from smooth to rutted is much more linear.
Ride height? Overall, hot, it has dropped 9/16" at the front wheel well top, 1/2" at the door handle and 1/2" top of rear wheel well. Practically speaking, the modifications have removed the slight forward rake and dropped the lower rail nearly even w/the pavement and gives the car an overall more streamlined appearance to my mind. I like this change. Spec drop on the Eibach Prokit is .8 front and 1.2 rear so we still have a little settling to do. Cold is a bigger drop (settled/tire contraction?) and I will measure that again tomorrow. They will settle a bit over the next week, I'm sure. The look is hard for me to define. After all when you tell people that the wheelbase is the same as the Vette, they can't believe it because the bodywork disguises that comparison very well. The same with the ride height. It is visible, but I can't entirely put my finger on it. I guess because it is a subtle drop and that is much preferred by me than a slam ya' in the face drop.
Many, many positive comments/compliments on the wheels! Thanks for making these available for me at this early date.
I'll let you know more as I discover more! Regards, Jim
