Rob, Sorry I didn't get back to you on your ? about what camera I use.
I use several from the Olympus line. I shoot a couple of E10's which are 4 megapixel SLR's w/35 to 140mm zoom. They are my favorites, but overkill for web use. Another one I use a lot is the Olympus E100RS. It is a speciality camera from Oly that can shoot 15 frames per second. (only digi that can accomplish this) It also has optical image stabilization that allows me to shoot insanely slow shutter speeds handheld. I also shoot a couple of Canon digi's.
You cannot really go wrong with Canon, Oly or Nikon in my mind. I would stay at or above 2 megapixel resolution. You can, in fact, print up to 8x10" from a 3 megapixel camera and 5x7" from a 2 megapixel camera. If you are not planning on doing a lot of enlargements, do your wallett a favor and go for a 2 megapixel which is much less money and can give you good 5x7" and will do beautiful images for the web. My Olympus cameras all use both Smart media and Compact flash media, but the point n' shoot consumer cameras in the Oly line only use Smart media and I don't really recommend that media. Canon and Nikon both use the more robust and higher capacity Compact flash media. I have had a few bad experiences with Minolta digital and I have never shot the Pentax digitals.
