Talking Got it!

I got my 350Z today. Silverstone/charcoal touring, 6 speed. I always wanted a Z, and although I'm subject to "breaking in" rules, I know this car will be a blast!

Here's a photo -- so far I'm enjoying the car, although it's a real change from my BMW's (I had a 540i six speed, and now have a 530i automatic). You definitely feel the road more with this car!

Don't worry you'll get used to the ride. It took me about 500 miles. Now everything feels good.

Ack I never post but I figured I'd ask you where in New York you live. I'm in Rockland but I see a lot of Nissan's with the plate things that say the car is from Geiss Nissan.

I have the same color combo as you, although I should have pushed for the orange leather. Silverstone and LeMans Sunset are definetly the best looking colors.

Stuart, how does the 350Z accelerate compared to your 540-6? My dad has a 540-6 and it pulls like crazy. How is top gear acceleration on the highway compared to the BMW?

SilverstoneTT: I live in northern Westchester, so Geis was the most convenient dealer. I had a very good experience there, the salesperson was terrific. I haven't seen any other 350Zs on the roads near me! I too am very happy with the color of the car.

97max5spd: I replaced the 540i 6 spd with a 530 automatic about 1 1/2 years ago, so my recollection isn't that great ... I will say that I loved driving that car, and the acceleration was great. It's really in a different league than the Z, which is without question much more fun to drive. You are much more connected to the road in the Z (in a good way), and the handling and the ride is, of course, much different. I'm still subject to breaking in rules (only 350 miles so far), so I haven't actually accelerated in top gear on the highway yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

ha ha, I remember those days! That's a really old sn then! I never wanted to have one with numbers... it didn't feel as personal. Instead I ended up with cotmfk.... much more personal. lol (j/k)
