Default My New Canon A640 - Test Photos - Web Optimized

Played around with my xmas present. Took some high-res shots of my car and of an outdoor scene at one of the local malls. Didn't use the flash for any of them...just playing with aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Definitely used a tripod and the car shots used the Tungsten effect for whiter light. Hope you like and suggestions are most welcome.

Nice pictures. I have been torn between the A640 and A630 myself.

I love how the lights of the parking garage bend and flex over the cars surface. That camera must be very very nice.

Thank you. Judging by how long I had my last craptastic Sony 2.0 megapixel digicam (4.5 years) I decided I would pay the extra $35 to get the 640 with the 10.1 megapixels and hopefully it'll be useful for the next 4 years. My friend also has the same dilemma as you with his thinking that $35 saved is still $35 saved if he can't tell the difference in pic quality. Needless to say, he's still shopping maybe waiting for the price to go down.

Nice wheels, but the exhaust... eh, don't look right.

Yeah the Espelir exhaust isn't for everyone's tastes. It was free as a prototype though I never did get the production unit I was told I would get (I think they were practically giving prototypes away as I saw a couple of Z's with the exhaust at SEMA the year my car was testing). I would consider changing it out myself but I honestly have not heard another Z exhaust sound like this one - while others have a brassy sound or just loud (almost like there's a problem with motor timing) this one has a low rumble to it for some reason that I dig.

Did you have to roll the fenders? Any rubbing?

Not rolled in the rear and no rubbing in the back.

The fronts I had flared a bit to accomodate my 18x9.5 +22 275/35/18 track tires a while back so the 19x9.5 with 245 street set are a non-issue.

Thank you.

Wendy, I was on your myspace...LOL I think we have a common photo location in Costa Mesa. I was either going to shoot in there or at the top of my office parking structure (gonna try that location too one of these nights).

I tried some photo-editing in Photoshop. The tungsten balancing may have been a bit too sterile in its whiteness. I also added a little blur to the background to make the car pop.
