My Black on Black G in the Caribbean. Thanks Status
almost forgot, I dont have a full review of the HKS Hipermax RSs, but here are my thoughts so far in the order that they come to mind:
1. seems like near stock ride height could have been kept but i chose to go with stock hks settings... i believe its .8"F/.5"R or so, iirc
2. the coilovers offer 30 settings, lets say 0 = soft, 30 = stiff. 10 is stock from hks and that felt smoother/softer than oem to me, yet the car also seems to handle irregular surfaces better. (not sure if this was partly due to sways and tires which were done at the same time) handling even at 10/30 seems better than stock but its hard to compare here because i modified so much at the same time.
3. every few settings or so produce a change that can be felt. so far i feel that my sweet spots are 10/30, 15/30, and about 27/30 when i want to really ride. at 15/30 it feels closer to stock, but handles much better. by 27 you're feeling everything but not too harshly. stability at speed (80mph+) is amazing in this range.
4. 30 is very stiff, i dont use it much. btw the roads here are terrible. in the states, in a place like orlando i dont think id be at any less than 15/30... most often id probably be at 20/30.
other random thoughts about my setup:
- car got a whole new look. the milimeter-correct fitment is impressive. i love the offsets and wheel/tire widths. the setup was expensive but every time i look at the car or drive it i feel like it was all worth it.
-everyone on the island is impressed, but then they havent seen volks on a car like a G before. ordinarily, everyone here is into chrome and deep lips (if they can run them.. most people here have civics).. so i was definitely going against the grain at first. now, the attention is crazy, ive received multiple offers to buy my car.. black/black is showing up all over. its silly.
-i feel like ive been devirginized in a way. ever since understanding how wheel sizes and offsets work.. and actually fitting a car with them... i cant look at other cars or wheels the same again. some oem wheels that used to look good to me dont really look as impressive anymore.
-i think that on the 'highway' here i can do the whole thing, turns and all, at over 130mph. thats a problem because really the highway is a two lane road with turns and stop lights (fixed entry though). speeding penalties here are nothing like the states (if caught- many cops wont care if you're doing a sane speed) BUT i cant do those kinds of speeds on public streets! ...so, it feels like the whole setup was overkill from a handling point of view. but then i drive it and it feels so good. then i start thinking, the 280hp i have is nowhere near enough
-ive never done crack but im thinking this modding thing might be better cause even though its addictive as hell at least when im done i can sell what my mods and get some money back. On top of that i dont have to worry about the police arresting me for possession, although they harass me and are very suspicous anyway. maybe i shouldnt resist...?

I've myself been considiring those wheels instead of the Sf-Challanges now lol
very impressive and thanks for sharing pictures
oh i also wanted to put my 2 cent in about Status.
I've been looking around for wheels and have also contacted Rick.
But before i contacted him ... i asked some members of where i could order my wheels and also have quality customer service.
They answered me.... If you go with Rick at Status ... you will not go wrong and you will be extremely happy with the business.
I will be purchasing my wheels pretty soon from Status.
I will also be getting some coilovers
Status FTW!!!!!

Yeah, Rick @ Status is a great guy. I was able to get a better deal on my rims and tires from F1 Motorsport though. Chris was great.
Your car is sekz. Very prettay. Like a G counterpart to my Z.

Status is by far one of the best companies I dealt with! Like you said in the write up, business' are in the business to make money and customer service takes a back seats to the bottom line! I ordered my Volks from Status and after the initial "miscommunication" I was more than happy with the products and how they kept me updated as to when my shipmwent would arrive. Anyway, nice G, lovin the LE's!
