its not really an overlay...the cf is layed right on top of the piece permanently. one layer of cf.

isn't that what an overlay is? basically wrapping the piece on top of the subject part.
regardless, it looks good. did you hand lay it?
i've wanted to start projects with composites... but i don't have much time.
