I think there are better z's than the ones that represented there. The runs for those z's in all the events were not that great. They could have done better!!! Not to say that the z's would have beat all those cars but imo there are better companies out there with better z's than max works and axis z's.

This is what Evo tuners build for... to dominate EVERYTHING on the course. Hell, I'm sure you seen the HKS Evo's in action. Evo tuners like Buschur Racing, AMS, GSC etc. have nothing better to do with their time than build cars to kick each others asses. This just translates into them kicking everyone elses asses too. Tuners just need to start over-building Z's in the same way.
O rly? What is the weight of a 2007 Grand Touring?

What's the weight of an EVO RS?

When I was still in the Mid-A, we rented MIR out for a day and weighed our cars there. All of the non-show and non-roadster Z's there weighed less than my Evo by up to ~150lbs. For reference, my car weighed in at 3190lbs.

The evo has been around for 10 generations now, the Z, only a few. I'm sure there has been more R&D on performance for the Evo's/Sti's, but so far they're ahead of the Z in terms of parts and performance. But if you read the modified mag this month, power output of the Z was around 500hp and the Evo was somewhere around that number. The Z came behind the Evo in every category (the top cars were all 4wd, Sti/Evo). Even the 240 came in ahead of the Z. It could be because of tuning/driver/road conditions but one thing was pretty constant: the 4wd's out performed the Z in all aspects of the competition. Personally, I would have liked to see another RWD compete (Supra). You never really see them compete in these types of evaluations.
