Ok, so I have parted out the Z and have it back to stock now, but have run into an issue with a guy that I swapped brakes with. So let me know what you would do in this situation…

I had the Wilwood BBK kit on the Z and wanted to go back to stock, which I required the OEM Brembos to do. This guy contacts me and he offers to do the labor, as he knows what he’s doing, so I knock $200 off the price because I know its going to cost more than that at any shop to get the work done. I knock another $50 off because he offers to drive to LA from southern Orange County and do the work at my place. So, the price went from $550 + Brembos down to $300 + Brembos + Labor.

So, guy shows up around 3pm thinking it’ll take him 4-5 hours…it ends up taking him around 10 hours to do the work, and he had to send his friend to Sears to buy a couple sockets that he didn’t have with him. At the end of the night, he tells me that he is $40 short because of the tools he had to buy, so he offers to just paypal me the money the next day…Its been 8 days, with a couple emails from me and a money request via paypal, and no 40 bucks…

Normally, I would just say forget it, its only $40, but when I got to looking at the work that he did, it irritates me that he got a discount for the quality of work he performed. The rear passenger caliper was BARELY bolted to the bracket, I’m talking 1-2 threads in…A lot of the lines weren’t bolted to their little brackets, so I end up going over the entire brake system myself and checking that each bolt is tightened, etc. Not exactly what I want to do after basically paying the guy to do the work.

Notes:
- Trade + cash + labor for BBK
- Guy shorts me $40
- Guy does crappy job
- I feel semi-pwn3d
- What would you do?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
but when I saw him posting pics of his car here:
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=347708 it just irritated me again that this guy is a loser and didn't pay in full...

Premier members, what would you do?

Is there any advantage to mounting the rotors such that the slots are against the direction of rotation?

Ouch! no response from the original poster. I think he's at the ATM getting the money right now.

Regardless, I hope he does the right thing. Nice car though...

I left him the trader rating he deserves...the $40 is just a slap in the face, I'm more concerned that he may offer his labor in the future and don't want anyone else to have the same outcome as myself.

Thankfully, my car was on jackstands waiting for stock suspension, so I noticed all the ****ups....had he been the one to put the wheels back on, who knows what could have happened...

BTW, the quote from above that includes the "8 days ago" was written on 3/6/08, so this is now 35 days past...
