The last two were the best two shots.

I see you were trying to do a bit of HDR? I'd stay away from that for the time being. Just use better lighting. The post processing is making too much noise, for example the first pic, there is so much grain on the red paint.

And on the second pic, you can see there's only so much it can do. The wheels are almost completely black, and you end up with alot of grey highlights.

If you're not already, Photomatrix makes a good HDR processing program, that there are tutorials on. Thats what I used to do these (with some photoshop to bring out the shadows a bit)





and black wheels are a pain to shoot. so some lights will help bring out some of the detail like this:




So yeah its a good start, keep at it! Looks like you're really enjoying automotive photography

 

Oh btw I did shoot these, using two Flash strobes on light stands. PocketWizard wireless transmitters, one each side of the car, facing each wheel.

ISO100 keeps the noise/grain down.

 

the hdr pictures are two pictures put together taken at different exposures, i had to do that because either the car was the right exposure and the background was blown out, or the background was perfect and the car was two dark.

 

In which case, perhaps a layer mask would be a better approach. Or, if you're doing to do HDR, take 3 photos, and use tonemapping.

What camera are you using? If its possible, you can use the AEB function which will automatically take one shot exposed at 0 and two more at +2 and -2. Photoshop's built in HDR merge isnt very good.

And gotta keep that ISO down if you dont want the post processing bringing out all that noise.
