Default Drunk driver wrecked my car.

Last night i was going to get something to eat about 1030 pm or so, and i was going down a 4 lane highway with a turning lane in the middle.

well a guy in a mid 90s f150 pulls out and he was meaning to pull into the turning lane, but he didn't go far enough out and instead was driving the wrong way in my lane. I tried to swerve to miss him but i couldn't and we hit head on.

My shoulder is pretty sore and so is my neck from the seat belt, but overall i am walking away and all so its fine.

When the police came, the guy *who is un-insured* blew a .15 on the breathalyzer.

Well, Allstate gave me a rental car. 07 charger, pretty nice car, im liking it so far.

I think the z will be totaled, but ill find out soon.

Do you guys think this will be repaired or totaled??

Hood, front bumper, headlight, fender, possible frame damage, air bags deploying, it will most likely be totaled. Glad you are ok though, if it is totaled will u be getting another Z?

Hard to tell cause the picture is so dark, but I'm leaning toward totaled.

i hate drunk drivers, you are so lucky that only your car is smashed.

i pray that this guy gets nailed to the wall, they need to make the consequences way way way way way worse for these *********.

good luck on your recovery and getting what is owed to you from insurance etc.

I hate to say it but insurance is going to total your ride. Hopefully you will pick up another Z but can't knock you for exploring your options.

4 year insurance claim adjust here along with Total loss appraisal. easy total man. by the pics you have about $15k easy in damages. unfortunetly G/Zs are soft due to the influx on the market and the low bb is really soft and they will for sure total it. glad you are ok and good luck on your new baby.

Mmmmmm, waffle house.

Btw, glad you're okay. Being upside down $500.00 is not that big of a deal. Did you not have GAP insurance?

I assume he will be suing the other guy, that 500 bucks should be easy to get back.

thanks, no gap insurance. im going to try to talk to them and ask if they will cover it, i also had alot of stereo equipment in the car. I tried to go get it back but i couldnt get ahold of anyone. I guess they are smart and are evacuating for hurricane gustav, hopefully allstate will cover my equipment in the car and reimburse me for it considering the situation with the hurricane.

Yea that's what I'm thinking also. You could buy the salvage back (depending on your state laws) and have it rebuilt at a reputable shop. I just rebuilt an 03 Z that a tree fell on and totaled.. It was with my stepfather (who owns a body/mechanical shop, so we had all the right tools and tricks) but was a great experience. Car looked better than new when we got done with it too.

At any rate, enjoy the rental car while it's paid for and good luck with the $500 and finding another ride.
