Freeway's aren't bad. I'm more worried about the side streets and driveways with steep ramps and/or deep dips. As far as speed bumps, there's absolutely no chance I can make it over any of them this low, not to mention my exhaust hangs low.

I just installed this earlier tonight. It fits snug on all four corners and looks like a custom in dash! Although the door doesn't really bother me that it opens (pops up), does anyone know if they ever made a retractable door like the 03' (slides up) for an 06 and up? I think it would look cleaner with that type of cubby door. If only they sold the sliding cubby box and door as a unit

^+1 since it is from Nissan and it looks like it curves in the center bottom. Damn the v3 will look SICK! Especially if he adds CF quad canards like this...

HAHA, yes I am a NISMO connoisseur.
This is the only one I have found, but you may also want to check with Z1, they have access to alot of hard to find NISMO parts:

You may be able to get away with the 03-05 sliding door in your '06, they all have the same model number and may be interchangeable. I would give Performance a call to confirm, here is the diagram for reference:

I will, hopefully it will be painted in a month from now. My friend at Seven7Apple (Makito) is backed up with projects right now so I have to wait a bit til he can work on mine. I could leave it there right now, but I'm in no rush since I have a few more parts to get anyways.

final, just a fyi, i have an 03 cubby unit that you can get from performance nissan with the finisher. its about 100 bux i think. it is NOT a direct fit tho. I had to trim the sides a little for it to fit right but after you trim it, it is MONEY!
but i did mines differently then yours, I removed the rear box and secured a 7" screen to the lid assembly so it looks like the stock navi screen
