Default cool pic of my grandpa and his hotrod in 1942

maybe someone could tell me more about it, the only details that I have is that the picture was taken in 1942, and that it went 89mph in low and 107mph in 2nd gear.

Looks like an old ford t-bucket roadster with a early ford v8. Nice ride, very nice.

This is a good site for some other pics: http://www.tbucket.com/

Some of the pics on there look like the above one.

Only thing I can think of is that the middle pipe is wider and picks up two exhaust ports or that there is a fourth pipe tucked under another pipe and difficult to see.

The engine is an old Ford flat head V8. I think that the 2 center exhuast ports are siamesed. At also has a custom / home made intake. Look at how high the carbs are raised.

Yep, flat-head V-8 with lake pipes. 35th Any is correct, the center exhaust port was shared between the cylinders.

Looks like wheels and grill from a deuce, truck tires in back with smoothies up front. And he had to be running a drop axle in the front.<O

If that is truly from 1942, Gramps was an early adopter and seriously bad-***!<O

There were hemi head conversions for the flat head V8 as well.
