Are you serious. I retract everything ive said about people hating on rota. Theres no excuse for a wheel to look like that. Ive seen serious collisions and the wheels held together, wtf?!

it must hit something BIGGER than a speed bump... i failed to believe that my cheap ADR rims on ebay which cost $500 shipped for 18" (past vehicle) can go over speed bump at 20mph no lie!!

Apparently it happened during some drifting. However, the main reason why I posted the picture is because the rim has a Nismo sticker on it. Similar to the guy with the Volk stickers on his Rotas.

I tried to stay out of the Rota bashing, but it was clear that some people do not fully understand the entire story. Sometimes things cannot be taken at face value. I'm not hating on people that purchase Rota products because it is their money and they can do as they please if that fits their budget. However the line has to be drawn somewhere. I'm taking a stance on people that think it is okay to put authentic stickers on Rotas and those that do not understand why a vendor that sells replicas has to be able to take heat since their actions are arguably unethical. Like the saying goes, "you made your bed now lie in it".

Yeah, I remember reading that thread. His arguments made absolutely no logical sense at all. It reminded me of what criminals try to do when they deny, deny, deny and use an irrational story to explain why they do things or what happened. It's better just to come clean and admit that he was just trying to pass them off as Volks rather than trying to sell the idea that his past purchases and the valve stems somehow justified the whole thing.

well you don't really need to know what he hit or how fast he was going. Just look at the outer (face) of the wheels and I don't see any damage. Pretty much this happen due to manufacture defect with cheap material...

There's nothing wrong with rotas, i've had rotas in the past and was pleased with them, even on my other car. I wasn't embarrass either to rock them, but yeah your right rick, people shouldn't protrait them as the real deal.

Rickdogg, are you going to post the story from what happened with this wheel? It's a new one to me as I just recently saw this image (for all I know the guy took a sledgehammer to the wheel to break it) and we don't know the background of what happened. Where is the car that this wheel was on, what happened to the car to cause this sort of wheel failure, etc..

The Rota P45R wheels are VERY DURABLE and have been out for 4+ years. This is by far the most common Rota wheel on this forum and there are hundreds and hundreds of 350Z's running these wheels without a single issue. You are welcome to view the official Rota P45R thread here for all the guys running these wheels with excellent results and to prove how strong they are

https://my350z.com/forum/media-share...s-gallery.html

On top of that, let me post images of Rota P45R's from actual accidents where we know what has happened (not just a random broken wheel image without a story, without a car, without any proof of what actually happened)

My350Z forum member "gregom"
"Needless to say I was going about 30 mph, and up came a big concrete median... more like, a sidewalk. I pretty much drove over it straight on, maybe slightly aiming right about 15 degrees... but I went over it, at 30 mph."

As you can see, the car hit a concrete median at 30mph, the tire blew out yet the wheel suffered just a minor bend in the lip. This is an actual recorded accident with the same exact Rota wheel yet the damage is a minor bend. Full thread with proof and details here
https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-...te-median.html

Nasioc.com forum member "invisibleSTi"
"Rotas look great and are strong! I stacked my car into a parked truck (my dumb move looking @ my cell phone) and while the wheel is fine I taco'd my a-arm, dusted my fender and front headlight, and stripped/bent my steering rack. All while the Rota took the impact like a champ and was like "what, did someone just hit my with a piece of paper?"

Thanks Wheeldude for the strong, great looking/performing product!"

Bent A-Arm yet the wheel is still in perfect condition

The wheel struck very hard and even the very strong aluminum control arm completely bent yet the wheel is in perfect condition. Again a well documented accident where the wheel suffered 0 damage, full proof and info here
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...postcount=2187

Sorry for the long post, but this thread is so fishy and shady. You provided no info and as I said before, the guy could have taken a sledge hammer to the wheel for all I know.. With all the fake accounts the my350z admins have caught on this forum where people were slandering Rota wheels I wouldn't be surprised if that is what really happened.. The above accidents were actually documented by real forum members and show just how strong these Rota wheels are.

We also sponsor a local time attack team that I'm sure many of you guys know if you are involved in these type of race events. The GST Motorsports Impreza L has one tons of events while running Rota P45R wheels. This wheel is definitely a track proven design that like all Rota wheels, passes JWL/VIA test standards

Quote from GST Owner/Tuner Mike Warfield

"We have smashed burms, jumped the car and done all things brutal we can and we have never hurt a Rota rim ever.

For sure the best wheel for the $ and strong as hell.

Mike
"
