Well I just got back from my cross country trip.... What a great drive!!!! I wanted to go to Pennsylvania to visit family and I didnt want to leave my car behind.... So I decided to drive
My route was 70 to 80 on the way to PA, then 81 and 40 for the drive back to Ca.
Logging about 700-800 miles a day it took 4 days each way. Would have been much much easier with someone to talk to and swap driving with, but this was an experience of a lifetime and I had a blast! I ate some questionable food, stayed in some crappy motels, got a cracked windshield in Colorado, and my bumper is stone chipped to death, but I would do it again in a heartbeat! The Z performed perfect and was surprisingly comfortable! Radar detector saved my a$$ more times than I ever imagined! Seriously, does Virginia really need so many highway cops??!!! And New Mexico, lay off the road construction, its annoying!!! Otherwise I had a blast. Heres some random pics of the journey
Wow dude. That sounds like a blast. Id love for a trip out from NY to CA but Id hate to put all those miles on the car. Maybe a trip to FL is in order..

Ah, if youre concerned about the miles I think the stone chips would kill you more! I didn't buy my Z just to look pretty in the driveway, I have more than 10k miles on it THIS YEAR!
Seriously though, the adventure of the trip was so great I don't even care about the miles!
How was the drive man? Im going cross country as well any advice you can give me as to driving out to Va? 2800 miles from Ca so it should be a great experience..
Awesome trip man, that must have been fun. By far the best memory i have with the Z (so far) is driving from seattle to San Fran and back solo. Not nearly as far, but there's something awesome about spending quality time with just you and the car, for a couple of days at a time.
Living in the age we do, its rare to have an opportunity to just be for long periods of time.
Wow, excellent scenery. I would love to take my car for a trip, but the rock chips steer me away from it.
I say go for it man! I have seen your pics and your car is super sweet.... Maybe slap on a donor bumper for the drive?? I didnt want to be one of those nancies with the painters tape on my bumper.....
