Default Pics of my 2004 DB track pack -- mod updates!!

Hello all

I have been on the forums since February 2008 researching my new Z perchance. I bought my car in May 2008 and have been to 2 meets with it so far but have not posted any pictures on here yet, so I thought I would today.

Here are some details:

2004 Nissan 350Z
Track package
Daytona Blue
6 speed
Bought with 30,000km
now at 37,000km

Mods that came on the car already

-Clifford 2 way pager alarm
-Window tint (15% rear 35% front)
-Clear front reflectors
-Nismo lip on rear bumper

MAY 2008

What the car looked like when it bought it.

The grit on the plenum was really bothering me so

3 hours later, after lots of cleaning and polishing

AUGUST 2008

I was looking for some more sound than stock but didn’t want to spend a ton doing it. I have a few other plans for it and I would prefer to spread the money out among various mods not just audio, so this is what I came up with.

This is what I have done so far:
-installed front speakers
-installed rear speakers
-installed deck
-installed 100 sq feet of fat mat
-Installed all audio wiring

What still needs to be done in the spring:
-Build custom sub box
-installed sub
-install amps
-Build custom trim plate/false floor

this is what is going in

fat mat installed

rear speakers and wires installed

front speakers installed

deck installed

2nd glove box

JUNE 2008

When I bought my car the windows were already tint, the fronts were around 35% and the rears 20%. But I didn’t find the front dark enough and they were tinted using a metalized or titanium style tint. This tint is a very good tint but had a greenish goldish look to it. I didn’t like way it looked against blue so I wanted to get it re tinted.

Here is what the old tint looked like.

After I removed the old tint.

After the new tint, 18% front, 18% rear. I was going to go with a 5% rear but the 350 is hard enough to back up as it is lol.

Before you do a new front...I think wheel spacers are a must if you're going to keep those stockers! They look great and I do love those wheels ... but with the kit they look more sunken in then usual!
But great great lookin' db!

agreed that the bumper is not as aggressive as the rest of the kit, but i don't like 90% of the kits out for the 350s, i don't think they flow enough. They dont use the natural lines of the car, i like the clean look. I would have went with nismo v1 or the style that just looks like a molded lip but i didn't want to go with fiber glass on the front. F/G chips way too easy, this way i only have a lip to worry about.

About the rims, they do need spacers they are in too far. I had 03-05 style rims before, i really like the 06 + one. I plan on buying aftermarket rims maybe next year but ive not found a set i like enough more than the oem ones to justify the cost. I dont really care for 80% of the rims i see on 350s, just not my taste. If i can find a good set of spaces for a good price i will do them, if not then i ll just use that money towards the rims in the future.

i've been dealing with statikperformance for my spacers and they gave me a great deal. I'd talk with Henry...mrwong@statik

He should be sending mine out tomorrow!

Great attention to detail. Great looking car. Some nice 19's with a good offset and some wide tires would compliment very nicely.

about the only thing I can say I would have done different is the dynomat... adds too much weight for me. the Z is heavy ehougy, but i bet it sounds good...

the Fatmat was around 50 pounds, i figure that mine is a track pack so i am still lighter than a grand touring model even with the extra weight. More audio will be going in soon though, tire is coming out but ill still probably be adding another 50 pounds or so. It should end up being around the same as a grand touring model or just a bit more by the time i am done. I am fine with it though, i would rather have a good sounding car. Power can wait a bit.
